The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 represents the most dramatic overhaul of Fire Safety Legislation in the UK in decades; the order came into force on the 1st of October 2006 and extends cover to all non-domestic / commercial premises in England and Wales. Part of that order requires the ‘responsible person’ of the building to ensure that a Fire Risk Assessment is conducted for the building and maintained throughout the lifetime of the building.
